Cities In Australia

Australia

I have got a question for you, mate: Where can you find desert, tropical rainforests, woodlands, grasslands, swamps and more than 10,000 beaches? The lingo might have given it away, but the answer is Australia! The 3 million square miles of this country is filled with diverse landscapes, exotic wildlife, rich culture, unique local cuisine and some of the best surfing in the world! The Australian wine, beer, fresh seafood and local delicacies are world-renowned, so be sure to bring your appetite! With so much to explore and experience, it helps to know a little about each major city, so you can plan your tour of Australia accordingly.

Queensland Australia is a territory in the southeast corner of Australia that encompasses destinations like Brisbane, Cairns, Port Douglas, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine coast, the Great Barrier Reef and the outback region. The 70 kilometer stretch of Gold Coast City is sometimes called “the theme park capital of Australia,” housing Dreamworld, Movie World, Sea World, WhiteWater World and the Wet N’ Wild Water Park. Additionally, you can hang at Surfers Paradise, visit the behemoth Q1 tower, shop the bohemian markets, visit Australian wineries and eat delicious fresh seafood.

In the welcoming city of Cairns, you can snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, relax on the beach, shop duty-free, hike through lush tropical rainforests, see national parks of Green and Fitzroy Islands, ride on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway or Kuranda Scenic Railway, experience flora and fauna at the Flecker Botanic Gardens, or take a stroll along the Esplanade, which is bordered by cafes and the Coral Sea. In Port Douglas, you can get a great view of the Great Barrier Reef, shop at Macrossan Street and the Sunday Markets in Anzac Park, visit the sugar cane farms of Mossman, or hike through the Daintree Rainforest, where impressive flora and fauna prosper.

While in Australia, you’ll want to see Brisbane, which is the capital of Queensland. Here, you’ll want to catch some local music, since Brisbane was hailed by Billboard as one of the “Top 5 International Music Hotspots” in 2007. If art and culture are your cup o’ tea, then you can also visit The Queensland Museum, The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), The Queensland Performing Arts Complex, The Brisbane Powerhouse, the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and the war memorials in Anzac Square.

Sydney is one of the most popular cities in the New South Wales region of Australia. Famous for its recognizable Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, Sydney attracts more than 7.8 million domestic visitors and 2.5 million international visitors each year. In Sydney, you can shop opulent boutiques like Versace, Gucci and Chanel along Castlereagh Street, Oxford Street or Crown Street; or you can find alternative artsy items on Newtown Street and Enmore Street. Big malls and shopping centers make Sydney a consumer epicenter. Additionally, Sydney is a “must” for art-lovers! Some of the biggest attractions are the Australian Museum (natural history and anthropology), the Powerhouse Museum (science, technology and design), the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Australian National Maritime Museum. Depending on the time of year you visit Australia, you may be lucky enough to catch “The Big Day Out” rock festival, the Sydney Film Festival, Australian Idol or the Australian Fashion Week celebrations.

The attractions in Australia may vary, but you can find memorable restaurants and shops in every metropolitan city. For a more off-the-beaten-path experience, Australians recommend a visit to the outback. Tourist attractions include national parks like Mount Augustus and Kakadu, as well as Alice Springs, Birdsville, Uluru (Ayers Rock), Coober Pedy, Devils Marbles, Katherine River Gorge, Kings Canyon (Watarrka), The Olgas (Kata Tjuta), the MacDonnell Ranges, Mount Isa, Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Monkey Mia and the town of Broome. In the outback, geographical wonders are everywhere and roaming kangaroos, camel and dingos can sometimes be spotted, which is sure to make your trip one-of-a-kind.

Booking a Trip in 2009

With the credit crunch affecting everyone people are now afraid of spending any money. There is no chance that people will even consider going abroad these days.

With recent news of airlines going bust and people getting stranded in unknown islands it is turning a lot of people off. I think that now could infact be the best time to grab a cheap all inclusive package and I will tell you why.

1) There are currently a lot of companies that are begging for customers to come to them, I personally went into a travel agents a few weeks back and the representative said to me look online to see if it's cheaper than come back and we'll do the same deal. I said well what's the point of coming back and the representative replied to keep the shops in business. So right now you can probably grab yourself a very cheap holiday at the fraction of the price that it was in 2008.

2) If you do decide to go abroad this year on a selection of any family holidays then I would definitely take advantage of it because the hotels abroad will probably be a lot less busy then they were in 2008 simply because everyone is staying put. So you will be rewarded with a lot better food and days out that are near to free.

The credit crunch is not as bad as people make it out to be, looking at the bad points of things will make you go insane, switching the scenario around and looking at the good aspects will heap you reap all of the benefits fully. Do not just listen to the negative opinions of the press because they tend to always look on the bad side of things.

Elephants Gets Leg Replaced

Safari holidays are a growing trend, more and more people want to jump onto the plane and head to Africa to go on a dream safari. Whilst you are there you are there you are bound to get to see some great animals such as lions, leopards, cheaters and not to mention the adorable elephants.

But let's dedicate this article to one brave elephant in Thailand called Mosha who is at the moment three years old. Mosha lost part of her right front leg as a seven-month-old when she stepped on a landmine. She was quickly rushed to an elephant hospital, but was expected to die until an amputation expert fitted the elephant's leg.

Elephants have a great lifespan, nearly as long as a human, they live as long as 80 years in most cases so it would have been a terrible situation to see one die so very young. Mosha has has a lovely new false leg fitted after growing to big for the old one. The leg is made of plastic, metal and sawdust so it works as a comfort to the big elephant and can hold all of her huge weight. Mosha had to have her old fake leg changed because of the sudden increase in weight and overall growth.

She now eats a ridiculous amount of food, indicating that she is a healthy elephant. Its superb news to hear because when the accident first occurred other Asian elephants did not want to go near Mosha and instantly rejected her, causing her not to consume food, but they have now all bonded and in all honesty she is a very happy and healthy elephant. So remember Mosha when you are looking at beautiful elephants whilst on your exotic Kenya holidays.

Playa Del Carmen Mexico, the secret is out

Playa Del Carmen Mexico is located in the State of Yucatan. You’ve never seen another place like Playa Del Carmen. So much is offered in this tiny state hidden on the Pacific coast. As the only other major city in the state, Playa Del Carmen is very different from Guadalaja. A pleasant warm temperature, the weather is good year round.  It’s not too busy and yet has most everything. This place will remain timeless, no matter what its more rowdy neighbors do. For example, Playa Del Carmen has approximately 5% of the hotel rooms of Puerto Vallarta to the north.

Tourism in Playa Del Carmen is about 2/3 Canadian. Playa Del Carmen is a land where you can see Canadians and Americans walking hand in hand, like natures best friends. You can really see how different Playa Del Carmen is from other locations. It’s always nice to see when the owners recognize you and are happy your returned. They don’t just brush you off, they remember and like you. Many wish Playa Del Carmen would stay a buried treasure. A feeling which is a shared desire of the locals, who, it is reported, have for many years been reluctant to accept federal funds targeted at developing tourism in the area. Playa Del Carmen remains true to it’s roots.

Come see for yourself.  Come see the incredible and amazing Xcaret eco-park where you will see what the Yucatan was like many years ago. Also go and enjoy an amazing. It is an amazing eco adventure park and resort that is fun for the whole family! Come experience the feeling of one of the safest cities in Mexico and be part of a vibrant community. It is special, it is reasonably priced, and it is convenient don’t miss out go on a Romantic Playa Del Carmen Vacation today!

Clarifying What The Holy See Is

Holy Roman Catholic Church

The term “Holy See” usually evokes images of Rome and the many buildings that one may see on the television when the Vatican City is shown. However, to understand what the term really means, one must understand that an actual difference exists between what is Vatican City and what is known as the Holy See. A person can take a trip back in time in order to learn more about how these two entities became synonymous with each other.

In order to understand what the Holy See really is one should know that this is the actual governing body of the Vatican City state. According to history, the See is what originated from St. Peter, not the actual Vatican City site itself. The See is actually the authority, jurisdiction and sovereignty that the Pope and his advisors have to use over the world wide Roman Catholic Church. The See has diplomatic relationships with over one hundred and seventy five countries from around the world, even with those that are predominately Muslim. The Pope reaches out to people all over the world to help spread the word of God and he does this through the Holy See.

Vatican City on the other hand is the actual place where the See is located. This is where the tomb of St. Peter is located and where millions flock everyday to catch a glimpse of heaven’s messenger on earth, also known as the Pope. The current Vatican City state did not come into existence until 1929, when the Lateran Treaty was put into effect. With a population of only around eight hundred, this walled city-state is the smallest independent state in the world today.

When people think of the Holy See, often they are thinking of what is known as Vatican City. Truth be told, though, these are two completely different things. By understanding the difference between the independent city-state of Vatican City and the governing body of the See, this can help one to better understand how the Roman Catholic Church is governed. And, understanding one’s religion can only help to make one closer to their higher power, whether known as God or Allah.
